Hi, I’m Dana, founder of Qavah Functional Wellness.
I’ve spent more than 20 years as a Registered Nurse, with most of my career serving in the ICU. I believe deeply in evidence based medicine, advocacy, and the importance of truly listening to people.
After developing Long COVID, my own health changed dramatically. What started as lingering symptoms evolved into complex autoimmune issues, MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome), severe gut permeability, chronic inflammation, and eventually the overwhelming hormonal shifts of menopause.
I searched for answers locally and through national telehealth platforms, but I often felt like care was rushed, fragmented, and focused on symptoms instead of the whole person.
I needed more than a quick questionnaire and a prescription. I needed someone to see the whole picture of my declining health. As both a nurse and a patient, I knew people deserved more than that.
That experience led me to pursue advanced training through The Menopause Society, along with additional education in Functional Diagnostic Nutrition and advanced lab interpretation. I wanted to better understand the deeper connections between hormones, inflammation, gut health, immune function, and overall wellness.
I created Qavah Wellness with a simple vision: to bridge the gap between conventional healthcare and deeply personalized wellness care. A place where people feel heard, understood, educated, and genuinely supported through every stage of health and healing.
At Qavah, we don’t dismiss symptoms or simply medicate them in isolation. We take time to explore the whole story: hormones, gut health, immune function, inflammation, stress, lifestyle, and your unique life experiences.
While my personal journey with chronic illness and hormone imbalance helped inspire this practice, my mission extends far beyond one condition or one group of patients. I care for both women and men seeking thoughtful, evidence-informed care that goes deeper than symptom management alone.
Most importantly, I believe healthcare should feel relational, not transactional.
Whether you’re navigating hormone imbalance, fatigue, chronic inflammation, Long COVID recovery, gut health issues, or simply don’t feel like yourself anymore, you deserve compassionate care from someone who truly listens and partners with you in your wellness journey.
I built Qavah from both professional expertise and personal understanding—for anyone who’s tired of feeling overlooked in modern healthcare.
I’m truly honored you’re here.
With hope,
Dana
